May 2024 all topic thread

Oh my goodness. I can't believe I did not start this thread 13 days ago when May showed up! I must have been asleep at the wheel. Anyway, better late than never I guess.

Hi Jim, We had a high of 87° yesterday and they are saying mid 70s today.

Today is my 65th birthday, and my 31st anniversary!

I was going to remind you. But you had so much going on with the truck.

By the way, speaking of the truck, how did the AC recharge go? You may have to get a can of refrigerant from Wal*Mart and just do it yourself.

Happy birthday Tim, and happy anniversary! Can't forget your anniversary when you get married on your birthday!
The truck is still being a PITA. Well, actually the garage is. My 9am appointment was a bust as they were not open. So I said I would come in the next day, but they were too busy to work on it. I will go tomorrow morning and have them do the recharge and bumper swap, and work on the CEL. I already bought a can of refrigerant, and an oil charge, just waiting on them to do the recharge. It is warming up fast here. Want that done ASAP. I was told this engine passed smog in the previous truck, so I will just tell them to get it passed smog in my truck.

Young People of the modern era, don't even have their own cultural identifier yet. Old timers could easily identify as hippies, boomers, gen-x, disco ducks, punk, or whatever. But they do have their own vocabulary.

"Uncle Rob, isn't that 'cultural appropriation'? You're a 'culture vulture'."

No kid. It's just food. People of a certain shade of skin color do not have exclusive rights to tomato, onion, and cilantro.

Nest thing you know, the kid will accuse me of robbing pimps at gunpoint, for their shoes.

I`m back sorta
Katie is still in UCSF so I`m being a single dad bringing them to school and such. Her Dad has been a huge help
Did you sell the ranch I went to years ago ? Got the heck outta this crazy a$$ traffic. I`m too old to leave and the kids are/will finish school here in Livermore. Avery starts 5th and Jackson is a freshman next year. Otherwise I would follow you up North
How is everything with you Scott?

Very good facility. UCSF has some of the best doctors and medical technology. There are things that they can do there that other facilities cannot do.

They do look like I robbed a pimp at gunpoint.

Notice the low cut, side zipper, and big heels. That's from the year that Disco died. When my days of innocence ended. When the real world was foisted upon me like bad fish on Monday. I had to leave my childhood behind, and become a man. No more polyester shirts with the top 4 buttons open, and a chest full of gold chains. I ripped the 8-Tracks of Hi Fidelity, and the CB radio, out of my Ford Pinto, when I found out that I couldn't get the latest Rick James single "Super Freak", in 8 track format.

Torx is definitely the way to go. We used torx-head screws on all the decks around our house. They never spin out like philips do.
