My theory on the lost battery is that it was put into another vehicle during the five month vacation my truck took there. Of course, I can't prove that. However, that is still no excuse for him wanting me to replace it.
Scotty doesn't appear to be drunk to me, but then what do I know? When I stopped by the shop yesterday to pick up the refrigerant cans, I noticed they had moved the truck to the corner of the property by the old Tuneup Masters sign. SO, now it will get covered in bird poop again. Also, they somehow got the passenger front window to roll down as it was halfway down when I got the cans. If that continues to work, then all four of the power windows are working again.
A few years ago I took one of my riding lawn mowers to a shop to get new drive belt and deck belt replaced , they kept the mower for over four months , kept saying that they were short staffed and they’d get to it in a few days , when they finally called for me to come pick it up , my fairly new sears diehard battery was gone , I took a video of me and the kid’s conversation about the battery and time frame it took to get the job done , it’s a good thing I brought a friend with me because that owners son was about to be dragged across the counter and stuffed in a concrete mixer , I did get my battery back but why did I have to loose it in order to get what was mine in the first place 🤔, that shop closed its doors two weeks later and who knows where they ended up fyi Tracy California off 11 st stay away ,
jim for a small fee Ac shops run a dye through to check for leaks , if all good they vacuum and recharge , my Chevy Silverado had a small resistor on the firewall that was not working properly, the Ac mechanic jumped it with a paper clip , he asked do you want to spend $200 for a new part or $0 for a paper clip 🤔it was a no brainer at the time so I opted for the free paper clip and it has never failed again . Might want to ask about that part could or couldn’t be the issue .have a great day y’all .
I was going to pick up the parts for the truck today, but I got a call from the company that handles the scooter maintenance, and they said they have the motors. So, the guy is here now changing it out. The VA being the VA did not mention to the repair company about my complaints of bald tires, or the clicking noise in the left front wheel when making a tight right turn, so he said he would check it out after he installs the new motors. i will still get the parts for my truck, but it will have to wait. Hopefully it will not be too hot by then. Need to get more milk anyway, and O'Reilly's and Walmart are in the same parking lot, so it is all good.
Maybe you should just pick your truck up and take it to another shop to have it checked out. Maybe it's not O2 sensor like this shop said. Since you just replaced them.
I would be afraid of losing another battery leaving it there.
I only replaced one, the one before the cat. Now it needs the one behind the cat. I don't have the money to take it anywhere else since he is cutting me a deal on the labor price. As for the battery, I will try and get him to reimburse me for it. However, his number one priority is getting the PG&E turned back on, so it might be a while.
I just submitted my application to be considered for the new Mustang GTD. I doubt I have much chance to get one, but who knows. I know I'm on some sort of good list at Ford since they invited me to drive the 2020 GT500 in Vegas at the track before any customer shipments.
I bet Jay Leno is on that list too!
The scooter repair man came by and replaced the motor and tightened up the tie rod ends. No more clicking when I make turns, but OMG this thing is fast now. well, fast for a scooter. LOL. And the braking is vastly improved over what it was. They didn't have a work order for the tires, but he said he would order two and they should be here in two weeks or so. Strange how only two have lost most of their tread and the others didn't.
I brown the meat for a few minutes on each side, then add butter and soy sauce. Along with garlic, ginger, and onions. All the flavors come together as the pork chops finish cooking. Is it traditional? I don't know.

Yep, I understand, all in all sounds like he is treating you well, other then the battery issue.

How do they decide who gets to buy it? Other than being able to afford it? Is it "first come first served", where you get a number, so that you know that you're the 84,375th person in line? Or can you grease the wheels by playing golf with the regional vice president, and letting him win?

I think it's somewhere in between. They just choose who gets one, and the basis of that choice appears to be mostly on one's social media "presence." I don't have much social media presence so I worked the angle I had, which is to emphasize my long standing relationship with Fords and Shelbys and that I've personally met whom I think is the decision maker several times dating back 13 years.
The repair shop just dropped off my truck. Eight codes cleared; one remains. Number eight-cylinder misfire. Owner told the mechanic to drive around the block. When he got back the CEL was off! They told me to stop by Monday before I go to get the smog test to make sure the CEL was still off. They charged me $80.00 I have no problem paying that since it is now able to pass smog. The mechanic had to back the truck into my spot since the neighbor parks his Nissan rogue so close to the line, but at least it is back.
