A lot of those expensive shoes are usually built with a higher arch. Pacific NorthWest boots are usually built with extra layers of leather to support your arch, raise your heel, and it supposedly relaxes and splays the toes.

Allen Edmonds have a heel which is built higher under the instep to add arch support.

Alden makes the Indiana Jones shoe, which is known as "The Indy Boot". This is supposedly an orthopedic shoe, and recommended by podiatrists. They are built on a special last, and have a medical device heel. I like the cork soles.

What I would do is find a cobbler, either local or mail order, to put those Thomas Heels on your shoes or boots.

You could also look at orthopedic shoes that don't cost $500.

Fifty150 a question for you sir.
Do you have this switch to the left of your steering column on the dash, and if so, what is it?

It looks like it might still be usable, but I don't know what it turns on. I thought the repair shop had broken it, but I don't think so now. I took pics of the truck when I bought it, but none of them show this. So, I don't know if it was broken when I bought it, or it was broken at the repair shop.

BTW, the truck is back from the shop. Took a ride with the shop owner with the scan tool plugged in, and all the codes are gone, but I need to put about 60 miles on it to get the catalytic converter sensor to register. On the downhill slope now. They will be closed Sunday and Monday, I'll try to put 60 miles on it this weekend.

Factory switches for lights are to the left of that. That is not a factory switch. It could be for anything. On my truck, I used the same location for a toggle to control my lighting.

There's a kick plate below the steering column. Take that off, and look up, to see if the back of that switch is still wired. If there are wires, check to see if there's any power. Trace the wires down and see where they go. Who knows what a previous owner may have done.

But the good news is that the hole is already cut. If you install an aftermarket accessory, then you could put the switch in that location.

The part that is circled is an LED relay for the OEM lights. If you should decide to install brighter light bulbs. LED lamps require a different relay because of the load.

Look at the factory installed switch in that location. You will notice that it is a different switch, and centered.

Interesting. I thought it was a factory switch. Good to know. it does look like a factory bezel, with the cap missing. I'll have to push it to see if anything lights up or not, since crawling under the dash is not possible, not with the Nissan Rogue so close to the truck. Maybe when I take it to church I can check it. Or just push it with a pen or pencil.

You will also need to take the kick plate off. Get those Stanley tools ready. 2 bolts. I forget what size. But they're small. And probably metric, like 6mm or 7mm.

IF there are no wires attached, then you could simply pop that switch out. That style of switch has two tabs which easily pinch in.

Your switch has an "on" position. The OEM switch is for adjustable pedals.

Interesting. I talked to the owner of the 1941 Dodge pickup the other day. It seems it used to belong to his grandfather. He passed away and they got it (two brothers living together) They just got it back from paint a while back and it was sitting at an uncle's place. They are currently waiting on the chrome trim. What is interesting is that it has a Ford driveline. 1975 289, with a 4-speed manual transmission and a Ford rear end. Since it is 1941, they don't need to smog it, but they do need to put seatbelts in it. He says they have them, just haven't put them in it yet. He drives a Ford Explorer as his daily driver, his brother doesn't drive. I am not sure what year explorer it is, but looks like late 80's.

I wondered what that factory switch was. I did notice the "on" above my switch. I was going to drive it tomorrow, but since it is a 3-day weekend, the cops will be out in force, and I don't need a ticket. I think I will go out there and see if that switch is hooked up to anything though.

Good morning Jim, Rob from the city and others.

I hope everyone has a great memorial day, remembering and rejoicing the reason we are free.
