Color match

23 azure grey, wanted to have steps and fender badging color matched however dealer tells me they won't do it cause it will peel. Any truth to this see a lot of guys doing it.

Yup, totally true, if not prepped right.
Of course, the steps take a beating if you use them, so the paint will get boogered up eventually even if prepped well for paint.

Had all the chrome on my Platinum F-450 color matched about a year and a half ago and it still looks as good as new. Just gotta find the right paint guy.

The dealer isn't who I would ask, try a reputable auto body/paint shop.

Im color matching my steps and grill currently. Ive done this on everything and have never had paint peel. Its about having quality work done.

There's a decent paint shop in Brownstown on Industrial Road (behind Sheetz) that may be able to help you out.
