Paint color??
Trying to find some touch up paint for my 74 F250 build date of 01/74. Can any one help me with this color code? On my door tag under color the letter R is the only listing. The truck has factory paint and is a bronze metallic color. My local shops dont list anything back that far.

Hi, is there a paint shop that you could take a sample to (if you can get one), then see if you shop can match it? There is a shop like that here in the SF bay area, and they do a really good job of mathcing paint. You could also see if your local ford dealer has a place they go to for similar cases.

Hi, you have to go to your local paint supply house they should have color charts that go farther back than that and if not ask them to scan the paint they take a picture of it with a special camera and it tells them how to mix the paint for a perfect match even if yours is slightly faded. John

I just ordered some touch-up for mine from paintscratch.com. They list some paints for the 74 (and a bunch of others) but I didn't see any codes with an R. Might want to give them a call or e-mail.
I haven't received the order yet, so I have yet to form an opinion.
