Historically, I've purchased through the fleet dealer at local dealerships. But, the last new truck I bought was 2006.

Where am I likely to get the best pricing? Through the fleet sales department at a local dealership, "commercial sales" centers for the dealerships that have them, "internet sales" departments at local dealerships, or there may be a "regional dealer" such as Dave Smith Motors in norther Idaho that has a reputation for beating pretty much everyone's price on Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/GM, or just slug it out with the local retail sales staff?

I'm in NW Oregon, but I don't mind driving a ways. Bought a used Expedition in Las Vegas a few years ago, and had a good time picking that one up.

If you don't qualify as an employee/retiree you can join EAA.ORG or Mustang Club of America and qualify as long as the delivery is at least 90 days from membership date. Usually from order to delivery it's at least 90 days anyway. So invest $48 and join now if you think this will work for you. EAA is $48 Join EAA

Then you can go to https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/login.do enter EAA01 as partner code and price your truck with X-Plan

From the ford partner site you can generate an X-Plan PIN Number, From the EAA site you can print your membership card as proof.

So, using EAA01 and the estimator for X-Plan pricing I come up with a "Net Plan" price that is about 3.068% off MSRP. Looking at just the X-Plan price, it's about 5.098% off MSRP. I'm not sure which one to use.

My experience with X-Plan is that the price comes in at about 5% below MSRP on Super Duty trucks. The formula is based on Invoice before Destination charge. (invoice x .996) + $245

Example, My 2024 F-450 Platinum had MSRP of $96,395 and the X-Plan Price was $91,753 So it was 4.815% below MSRP. Locally deelre ahcrge up to $1,000 in dealer fees but with X-Plan they are limited to $150 in fees.

From the Invoice provided for my 2024 F-450 Platinum the numbers were:
$96,395 MSRP
$91,845 Invoice with destination charge
$91,753 X-Plan
$88,207 D-Plan (Dealer Employee)
$88,107 A&Z Plan (Ford employee or Ford retiree)

If you are interested in using X-Plan call dealers near you and ask if they would be willing to order a super duty for you with X-Plan. It's optional on the dealers part and not all will order with X-Plan. Important, Remember your membership in EAA or MCA requires you are a member for at least 90 days at delivery date so join today. I recently used EAA last week for an F-450 Platinum. Previously I used my company partner code as either an employee or more recently as a retiree.

 

Are you ordering a truck? I ordered/bought mine at Gresham Ford in early '22 because they were the only ones at the time that would accept x-plan.

If you are close to Granger, go with them. But the distance needed to travel to them to pick the truck up negates any savings for many of us.
X-plan from a local dealer will be your best bet in that case. Dealers you buy from are also more apt to work with you for warranty & service as well

 

I visited and called many dealers in the Chicago land area and had each give me their best deal. I stated I could get X-Plan and wanted better. I was looking for 2% under invoice for my 2024 Platinum. I got a dealer to do the order in March for 1% under invoice. They are two hours away but that is easy. First make sure they have Allocations then see what they are willing to do. Everyone around me would order at X-Plan. Ordered 03/20/2024.

I'm on the west side, but I've been to Gresham Ford a couple of times after hours to kick some tires. They're on my list of people to contact with the "Commercial" division.

 

The thing to watch for on deals such as yours is the doc fee. X Plan limits the dealer's doc fee to $150. The dealer can give you 1% off invoice to avoid X Plan then charge a high doc fee to compensate.

 

I know that Hamilton ford in clovis NM usually has really good deal. Ask for Kaden if he's there he does a great job.
