I'm sure you are probably correct about the truck not recognizing the trailer BLIS signals or knowing what to do with them. I do like the rear camera feature and I am glad it is hard wired. The only problem I have with the camera is that, back in 2017, it is only active or available when the truck is in reverse. I can't access it when moving forward. From what you are saying it sounds like yours comes on when changing lanes? Is that correct?
Yeah, when towing in my truck the left or right 360 side cameras come on when you turn on the corresponding turn signal, and you can select the trailer (labeled AUX) camera to permanently display on the center 12" SYNC 4 screen. That's definitely a huge improvement in these newer trucks. I wonder when this change happened - I'm going to assume with the MY23 trucks. It's unfortunate that it doesn't work for you - I find both of those to be outstanding safety features while towing.
I am new to Ford BLIS, I've only been driving my truck for a week. I am accustomed to BLIS in my Hyundai which operates differently: as vehicles in adjacent lanes approach from behind, the mirror BLIS indicators light up, with no sound. But if you turn on your turn signal, signaling an intention to move into an occupied lane, the Hydundai system additionally sounds an auditory alert. In contrast, from my perspective, I find the sole Ford BLIS indication, the little orange indication light in the mirror, too small and, with my focus forward, too inconveniently located to be helpful. Apparently there is no way (even with Forscan) to enable an auditory warning when you turn on a turn signal and the adjacent lane is occupied. Does this sound correct?
I know I've received some sort of feedback (noise or shaking, can't remember) from the BLIS when trying to merge into an occupied lane. It's possible that it's only when actually trying to merge and not just signaling, or perhaps it's part of the co-pilot features that is only in higher trims. If it's the latter I think that it's really stupid to gate safety features behind higher trim levels - Ford clearly has the tech, why not put it in all the trucks?
I also know that some of the BLIS features are disabled when towing, specifically the cross-lane traffic assist - not sure exactly what that does, but it doesn't work when towing, even with the trailer BLIS installed.
Hello ll. New Ford F350 here and learning. The mother hen messages irritate me when I hook up my gooseneck trailers. Is there a way I can turn OFF the BLISS system when towing for all trailers and leave it on for non-towing driving? I want to stop getting these messages…

Nope, to my knowledge there is no way to deactivate these messages. I have tried, but Ford thinks it's something you need to see. every. time.
If it's any consolation, even with the sensors installed you still get warnings (specifically, "cross lane traffic alert deactivated")
I've never enabled the BLIS with my trailers on my truck. My understanding is that it would work if I had a narrower trailer. My bumper pull trailer is as wide as a fifth wheel, so that would block the BLIS sensors in the tail lights.
I do get the warning that BLIS is not enabled for the connected trailer. I have the full TPMS/camera system that was available for my model year.
I have had success entering my 102" wide Gooseneck deckover trailer as a bumper pull trailer, and the BLIS seems to work fine. The only reason I can tell that Ford disables BLIS for Gooseneck trailers is because the hitch pivot point is over the rear axle and may give some wonky BLIS alerts during turns. I haven't experienced anything weird and it works fine on the highway configured as a bumper pull trailer. May be worth a try.

Ya know that crossed my mind but haven’t messed with it yet. I’ll try it today later when I’m hauling some horses. Thank you for the info sir!
Set my 24’ stock trailer that’s 6’ 8” wide to conventional from gooseneck. Plugged in the correct length and width. BLIS worked trailering as it’s supposed to. Thanks KeystoneF350 for the tip!
