Ford BackUp Assist

I have a - 2022 Ford F-350 - Purchased with Towing Prep so came with Backup Assist Yaw sensor. I have a DRV Suites so purchased the Ford Backup Camera with TPMS Sensors. Installed per instructions and when tried to set up everything got a warning - Pro Trailer Backup Assist - Install Trailer Sensor. I have tried to get it to work with YAW sensor included and not included. Dealer can’t help unless I leave truck and trailer for a few days so wondered if anyone has encountered this and has a fix.

correct me if i am wrong, but the pro trailer assist will not work on fifth wheel or gooseneck type trailers page 422 of my book shows no bueno for those type trailers, so you cant set the system to alllow the **** to drive trailer position

on my 22 150 the pro trailer was funky when i got the truck and they had a tsb to do on the system it works great and i have sticker vice the sensor.
my recently departed 21 250 had same issue and a tsb was done as well

I appreciate the response but I am trying to get the backup camera and TPMS sensors installed and they require going thru the Pro Backup assist to program Tire sensors and camera.

I used my Trailer Backup assist today with my fifth wheel. Works as advertised. Sorry to OP though, I have neither of those installed.

Ask the dealer to loan you a yaw sensor and cables for testing purposes. That would be an easy fix if that's the problem. You might look under the truck and be sure all the wiring is firmly and correctly plugged in.

The camera and TPMS works independently from the Pro backup assist. I installed everything on my fifth wheel and have never done anything with the backup assist, but I use the camera and tire sensors.

i re read my book and its a bit cryptic for tpms. it shows relearning them and faults. it does say you have to set up trailer. which i assume you did
are the sensors from ford that you are using? i also read that could be issue if they are not "ford"

Final Fix

Because of 5 back surgeries in 2 years I am not able to do certain things - like crawl under the truck. A good friend came over to help and after checking everything we could check - he crawled under the truck and discovered: Ford had not connected sensor cable to the sensor plug in the truck (I had paid for trailer package so it had the trailer light cable and sensor cable in the bed). Instead they had a dummy plug in the sensor cable. Hooked the cables together and it started working as advertised. Thanks to all for the help and responses.
