I have a 66 f100 with a 352/ 4 speed. The 352 is tired so can I swap it out with a 390 ? Will the mounts and bell housing line up? If not, any ideas on how to improve the performance of that tired 205hp. Motor? Thanks in advance.

Yes, a 390 will fit so well you won't be able to visually tell the difference. In fact, parts are interchangeable between the 352 and 390.
As for putting some pep into the 352, the right builder can easily get over 1 hp per cube and over 1 lbft per cube as well in a very mild mannered package...all it takes is money After market heads, intakes, cams, and stroker kits. Take some time to research if you want to build up the current 352; it can be built to easily beat a stock 390.
A 352 is from the Ford FE big block engine family. 352, 360, 390, are common sizes and all share the same block, heads, intakes etc. The bore and stroke are different.
If doing a FULL rebuild ( bore block, machine crank, recon rods, new pistons) it cost the same if not cheaper to do a 390 as it does for a 352 due to parts availability. You will need 390 crank, rods and pistons, no replacement for displacement.
Can also do a 450-+ HP 445 cube stroker motor "fairly" reasonably .
