Hi and welcome to the site!

Ya know I've heard of quite a few '67 F100's with a 351c, must be the swap of choice. I always thought that was a cool setup. Curious, why do you want to swap back?

I would never swap a 351C for a 352. That's like reverse evolution. I never regretted dumping my 352 for a 390.

IMHO, the 352 isn't worth the effort, bcause it weighs 250 lbs more than other engines in it's displacement range.

Welcome ragoonred67

I'm kinda like the others. Why?? Restoring it? I see no good reason to put it back.

The Cleveland motor was an improvement and the hotrod choice back before the 460 came around.

As for swapping, the 351C is a small block, so the mounts need changed and a new tranny too. Nothing interchanges at all.

I too am a "FE" junkie, so swapping back is not a bad idea, but if it's not hurt I won't change it.

my line of thinking on this was that the truck would be more appealing to other "FE" and myself. The 351c it currently totes has some major problems. it runs but smokes a heavy cloud of bluish white smoke on the passengers side ALL the time. I mean its a real mosquito killer, and the people behind me at the stop light are not very impressed if ya know what i mean. I just got the truck 2 weeks ago and have started making it road worthy beginning with the most important things. All in all its a good start for a resto. All the major things I see on this site are good on my truck, IE: cab mounts, radiator brackets etc. There is only minor surface rust anywhere except the rocker panels. The inside is almost perfect and functional. The only thing that dont work is the fuel guage. I would like some advise on how to make her more valuable as well as more fun to drive. Thats why i figured on the 352. It was the origanal set-up w/ a 3 on the tree.

PS i need the side hood plates sporting the F100. Its my understanding the 67's were dif than 68-72. Let me know where I can pick some up. The salvage yards where I live dont have "ANY" 67's, can you believe that!!!!

RR: I like your way of thinking, but I agree with FT - It would be a LOT of extra work to replace the engine, transmission and driveshaft etc etc.
My recommendation would be to find yourself a worn out truck with FE and tranny, if you really want to do this, and rebuild them.
The donor truck will have all the right perches, fittings, etc as well.
You could also swap out the disc brakes 9and power steering etc) from the donor truck, as well.
Just my thoughts!

rr67, I can appreciate that but just for sheets-and-grins you wanna try retorquing the intake manifold? The small bolts are 21-25 and the big ones are 28-33 ft. lbs.

whats on your mind BB. could that be whats making it smoke? and since you mentioned it I have a vacume leak under there somewhere. I checked all the lines to make sure the were connected or capped. I could hear the distinctive sound of a leak but couldnt locate it.

thanks for your replies. glad to know there are people out there that appreciate these old trucks as much as i do!!

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. If retorquing doesn't help then maybe a new intake gasket, it's one of those one-piece gasket/baffle jobs.

Clevelands had one piece sheetmetal gasket/valley pans(if my CRS is not to bad right now). Built one years back. Seems maybe you are sucking oil thru the intake and burning it. Logical.

Hope you can get that figured out. Save yourself some headaches changing it to an FE again.

I know it's not politically correct, buy you could put a 351W or 302 in it instead. Much easier to get your hands on right now. It would basically bolt right in. A late model roller cam motor would make the truck run quite well. Even a stroker version would be sweet. NOT correct, but if she runs good, I'd consider.

I won't do a 460 swap, but a nice small block is good for me.

OK, new problem. I cant find a front wheel bearing hub for my 67 ford f100 1/2 ton 2wd truck. I can get the drum all day long but the drum and hub were seperate and i cant find hubs!!!!

my wheel bearing went out and when i pulled the bearings out i found the inside of the hub was wallered out which makes the race have about a 1/4 in of play....not good.

any websites or aftermarket shops you can suggest. ive been to all the local parts stores (autozone, napa, orileys) and they cant even order it.

the 65-67 trucks use the same hub. I had to get a used one off of a 65 when my bearing failed a few years back. I think they are junkyard only.

I think I may have located the part at a junkyard that ive never even heard of. I was hoping to get new, but ill take what i can get at this point. This is my first project and I really want to make this a nice truck and dont mind spending a little extra dough. So if you guys know some places where I can get new parts that would be great.

PS; does anyone know what a 67 F100 Custom cab SWB (came factory 352 w/ 3 on tree) could be worth if its restored right. Im not planing on selling for profit, just curious.

I don't think the small block was offered until late 68 when the 302 came out. Don't worry about the value, just build it like you want it. These old pickups are plentiful and usually very reasonably priced. If they were rare it would be different, but nice clean untouched ones can be bought for less than you will have into an engine rebuild and a paint job.
I would also reccomend considering the 302 or 351 windsor engines since you are already set up for a small block, that is if you decide to do a swap. The 352 was a fine engine and I wouldn't disturb an existing one, but at the same time they are a bit of a dinosour and not really worth going to all the trouble to revert back to.
