Installed the aftermarket trimmer valence last Saturday
Wasn't as easy as the youtube videos showed. 2 screws (2nd one in from the edges on both sides) held things up. I had to take off the fender supporting brackets and loosen another (bottom bolt off and loosen the top). The clips that stayed with the original valance (too big for me-new/used truck) easily transferred to the aftermarket trimmer valance. Did remove the large brackets closer to the middle and zip tie a cable up a bit higher. 5/16th, 13mm, 15mm sockets. Also had to use a box wrench for a couple of bolts.
If only the 2wd version existed they would just be removed like they were on earlier trucks for decades.
The swoop forward is very unfinished.
Disagree; it's the huge length/drop of the 4x4 one that causes most people to want to modify or replace it. As far as the "swoop forward" you are the first person to mention it in the last half dozen threads on the subject so I think it's a you thing. In any case it's personal preference and based on the number of people here that have purchased the 2wd one, people like it......but if not, the tremor one is available or you can remove it completely, though I think that looks trashy if you still have the stock bumper.
2024 F-250 Lariat Ultimate W/black appearance package. Should I just take the front air dam off, or order an air dam for a trimmer and install it? Any pros or cons with ether option?
On my 22’ the front license plate mounts to the valence so you might need it for that.
i’m in agreement with @Member No. 1 . I am going to trim mine before I tear it off hunting. I almost tore it off last season and I have just been waiting for the warmer weather.
I cut down the one on my 2018. It was a little different design, so it was easier to cut it. On the 2024, it does have a bit of a lip that "swoops forward" as F250blueoval said, and the length I wanted would have put the cut right in the middle of that "swoop".
I debated on the Tremor valence, but I thought it looked a bit too short for my tastes...maybe if it was 1" longer.
So I went with the 2WD valence. It was $71 at my dealer, but I used points and ordered it the first week I had the truck. Looks great!
