I had to chuckle when you said that about Mary, starting a garden and then the upkeep goes to you! Sherry seemed to do that, also she will act confused about why something is dying. "I just don't know why these are all dying" - because you need to water it twice a day, not twice a month! lol. I water my plants every morning around 6am and every evening after supper. The sun just sucks the water out of them so gotta keep them replenished. As far as Mary using the wrong soil, I can't tell you which one is right. I know they have potting soil and potting mix, and they aren't the same. I can't remember which is which but I do read the bag each year to remind myself which on is for raised bed.
Tom framed up his bathroom area in the shop, and he built 2 work benches, one on each side, and moved stuff around - tried to organize it better. But we did not move those 2 heavy machines, one is a milling machine, the other is a lathe. He bought them both from Chuck Warren and Chuck unloaded them off the trailer with a backhoe. Our plan was along the lines of using the engine hoist to lift it putting it on wheel dollies, and then pushing it to it's new location. Speaking of the wheel dollies, I put my leftover trailer wheels on Tom's Fairlane so that we can put the wheel dollies under it and be able to move it around. But there's piles of lumber in the way, and Tom left to go home yesterday, so it will all have to wait til his next visit. As long as I can get my Mustang in there to park.
So we were filling 30 gallon bins in the garden tractor trailer and hand pumping it to water, that got old real fast!
When we updated the power to my garage for the air compressor and lighting and power to the tractor shed we had a water line run.
Thing is by the time the water gets to the outlet at the shed it has no psi

So I bought a pump to boost the psi to water and this worked pretty good but I still had to do the weeding and that was not going to happen after the hours I was working during the week.
But the real thing why I think Mary (and I now) dont do a garden is the soil is mostly sand and the things we would like to grow dose not grow in sand so we dont grow anything.
I may have 4 more HF wheel dollies if you think they may work for moving things when you get back into it.
I know I got 4 under the Gremlin but should have 4 more when I did the pickup to move it when I had to.
I also got a high lift off rod type jack and the bottle jacks if they will help too.
I would say when it comes time to move the equipment Tom better have a place to move it to where it will stay cause moving the heavy azz stuff is no fun.
