Is a 302w clutch 11" or 10-1/2" ? Do both use the same bell housing and all related parts . Are the two interchangeable easily ???
A 302 Clutch from a truck is usually 11". One from a car is 10-1/2" The bellhousing for the 11" is bigger as is the back plate. The bellhousing and back plate for a 240 or 300 6cyl will also work on the 302 with an 11". but you can't use the flywheel off of the 6cyl due to the 302 having an imbalanced flywheel. Hope that helps.

Thank-you......I got a fancy 10-1/2 " , 3 finger "Long Style" clutch . Manufacturer says 10-1/2" clutch will fit a 302w . Seller marketing gobbly - gook says it is easy to press/release the clutch . Other sources says they are hard to press.......Also told 10-1/2 inch would fit . Now it appears that I should have a 11" instead of 10-1/2"
Sellers , I guess lie to buyers to make money ... or do not tell the WHOLE TRUTH.......
Clutch is rated to 650 hp so that may be a lie also........
Anyway , if my current clutch is 11" what changes do I need to fit an10-1/2" clutch in my ride...
Got this at an incredible mark down & usually it is marked way down for a reason............
