Hello all, I've tried search the threads for this part with no luck. It has e7tf 18801-aa 648 on it. Located near the ignition coil. What does this do?
The issue I am having is that my truck (94 F250 5.8l) will start when its warm but will only pop and fire just a bit when colder. I checked fuel pressure which was low so replaced the fuel pump, also had a bad fuel pressure regulator, replaced that. Tries to start a little better now but wont run when cold.
The reason I'm asking about the above mentioned part is that I had the truck transported from AZ to SD and noticed that the wire to that is broken off. It ran great before the transport.
So that part has nothing to do with ignition? It has 38psi for fuel when i turn the key on , holds pressure when i turn the key off which is my understanding that regulator and injectors are holding pressure . I havent pulled codes, not sure how to do that exactly. i think i can figure it out though, ill go pull them and see what they say.
A little more info, the truck started 2 days ago and ran fine temp was in the 40s now wont start in the 20s
i think i have the codes i got 116 ,636, 114, and 654. Im sure I have fuel now that the pressures are good. I've also hooked a timing light to each plug wire to see if each one is firing consistently when it does run.
I can't get a video to work. Fuel pressure never goes below 35 when cranking, it will run for a few seconds then die. After about 3 tries of starting it will backfire a bit but not start .If I let it sit for a 1/2 hour or so it will run a few seconds again.
The suppressor did arc when the wire came apart which blew a fuse, I replaced that and it has ran since then just not well. I had a similar issue on a 6.0 in an F450, that turned out to be the diode in the fuse box under the hood. I've got one ordered for this truck, not exactly sure what it does but for 9 bucks im willing to try it. Ill keep digging to see what is failing spark or fuel. Thanks for the help so far.
