Sorry, speedo reads 1 mph high. I guess I'll learn to live with it since it is fairly common. I don't think it is worth getting Forscan for the speed issue, now if something else pops up, I'll take the leap.
Thanks for the replies!
As the tires wear down the error will increase. How much tread is left on your tires now? Are they properly inflated?
Funny, out of all of my "fleet", my 66 F100 is the only one that is spot on and matches "pick your GPS" every other truck is off and I just live with it... now when I'm pumping fuel, I have to stop on the exact $ not one penny over, not one penny under... OCD is weird that way lol!
Noticed it right away but though it would settle in with a longer trip, 1200 miles was the first long trip, then around 200 a day for 10 days and then 1300 miles straight back.
My speedometer and map-based GPS are exactly the same. But then again, I optioned my truck with the "100% accurate 80% of the time" option. Best money I ever spent...

The question, “is it a short trip?” is really a suggestion that if your speedo being off by 1 mph is driving you nuts then to get from where you are to totally nuts is not a long drive.
Find a measured mile and use a stopwatch. The highway in front of the state minimum security facility near my hometown has a measured mile by survey, and you can check your spedo and GPS. It is not worth the effort.
