Im new to diesels. I have had a 6.0 powerstroke for 2 years now. I just had to have the EGR replaced with BPD and oil cooler replaced. The diesel shop call and wanted to changed the HPOP while they were in there but were going to double labor. $4300 for oil cooler and EGR, 8k for oil cooler , EGR and HPOP. Anyways I said no. I have a scan gauge and delta were like 14-16 for a while so I knew that was bad at least. HPOP 580, IPR 22, ICP 17 all at EOT. WOT HPOP 3300, IPR 72 %. Anyways there has been a whining noise which is NOT new. The whine gets louder on first acceleration, not a squeal but more of a winding sound like when you put a manual honda in reverse just not as loud. At one point I thought it was the transmission but it shifts smooth and temps are always 150-170. From 0-50 its pretty noticable and from 60 to WOT when I accelerate its alot less noticeable but its there for sure. When I put the truck in park and rev it to 2500 it hear it, when its in neutral i get the same sound. It doesn't squeal when i turn the wheel in park its only a rev thing. I doubt its the power steering pump, no squeal when I turn, resivior full. I cant really get under it until April and im going to change the serpentine belt and check for loose pulley, but what else can it do while im in there? I have low hopes for this because it sound like its coming from the top of the engine and not the front per se. When i open the hood and rev it, it's just a general whine. But since the diesel tech insisted it hpop was going to blow and i have driven it for 30 k miles like this it got me thinking maybe i need to figure it out. How will i know if the alternator is toast. Batteries new have not died at all, 13.1 on the scan tool when running so i cant see it being the alternator. Could it be the water pump ? Also i may drive like an ******* sometimes but i doubt that has anything to do with the noise. I attached 2 videos one from in the cab and one under the hood, any help would be greatly appreciated, I just don't want to get stranded. thanks guys. Lastly the truck starts right up every single time NO hard starts
Or...remove the belt and start the truck to see if the whine is still there. This would tell you if the whine is still there or not. If it is gone...the noise is/was related to a belt driven accessory. I wouldn't let it run for too long without the belt though, as your water pump wouldn't be circulating any coolant during that time and your alternator wouldn't be charging your batteries either. But you could do it long enough to see if the noise is gone.
Sounds like an engine accessory. You can take a breaker bar or other long metal object and use it as a stethoscope. Push one end on the alternator near the bearings and listen on the other end. You can very quickly figure out where the noise is coming from.
Hopefully the alternator as that's easy to change!
Regarding your HPOP, I assume your truck is an 04? Do you still have the original? The 03-04 pumps are known to fail but most people don't touch them until they start seeing signs. There are some mfgs' that make upgraded ones that last a long longer than the stock ones.
The ICP and IPR numbers from your video look just fine. I wouldn't worry about it for now unless you want to be preventative.

I can rev the engine without the belt too? The noise isn’t particularly present during idle or it maybe be but the typical diesel idle may be louder so it’s not noticeable

Yes, just not a lot or for very long as Joker pointed out.
Sounds more like a howl than a whine to me which could be a cavitating water pump or an issue with the exhaust.
If a mechanic ever told me that my HPOP was going to blow-up, I would never go back. Just sayin'.
