I have a 1994 f150 xl inline 6 300 single cab long bed bone stock and the clutch is worn out. im trying to find the best clutch for a daily driver I drive around 200 to 300 miles a week give or take and every so often I have to haul a trailer any suggestions?
I've used LUK and SACHS both in stock applications and both functioned identically. I've used ZOOM and Centerforce in stock and high horsepower applications and they were fine too.
Last Christmas I put a "Perfection Clutch" kit in the f150. And it has worked amazing so far. And had far more clutch material than the LUK that came out. On top of that it was an 11 inch clutch vs the 9 and 5/8 LuK (measured it myself to be sure).
Here is a picture, it has an optical illusion that it is smaller because the extra friction material makes the center look smaller. And the used one is sitting on the pressure plate.
I got the whole kit ( slave, clutch set, and pilot bearing) and flywheel for like 200 bucks. And I would absolutely buy it again.
Luk work well, you can go with the 10" or 11" Cost is about the same as your flywheel allows for the 11" too. I would have your flywheel resurfaced if in good shape.
