WheelsOfFire/others,

Did dealer do all of the trailer tpms setup on the camper??? Or did you?

I have all Ford parts needed. Tire shop put Ford sensors in trailer tires. Truck does not “see the trailer sensors or module.

do I need to pull the trailer down the road at 20 mph for 2-5 minutes before the truck automatically sees the trailer TPMs sensors on next start ?

Do I need to pull the camper with new Ford sensors at 20 mph and then manually start the truck TPMS learn mode that starts with left front tire and progresses through all truck tires first?? Does that process then go on to tire sensors?? IF that is the process, can I skip through the (6) truck tires since the truck already recognizes those sensors, or go o need to do all 10?

thanks in advance.

It app did at least keep another screen out of the truck, which with the truck screen, Garmin and trailer camera screen and smartphone holder was already quite cluttered.

As part of the new truck I sprang for the ford TPMS system, and let me tell you, the experience has been like, a million times better. I had to re-wire the harness and do some splicing to get things set up on the trailer correctly, and fit the new internal tire sensors at a local tire place, but now everything just works smoothly and displays on the dash without any other screen. As a bonus, the TPMS harness includes the wired camera harness, which I was able to hook up and now displays on the truck screen, even when moving. Towing is now so much better with only the one extra screen for navigation, and trailer cameras on the big 12" screen.

Definitely the premium option at $500 for the TPMS and $300 for the camera, but it makes towing *so* much better, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

No, the dealer didn't install anything. I didn't ask, but I just assumed that ford mechanics aren't going to work on my fifth wheel, so I just installed everything myself. Not sure what you have, but you'll need the full kit, with ford wireless stems installed on the wheels and the TPMS harness/receiver installed onto your trailer. Once it's installed and plugged into the 12/7 pin connector, you will use the truck to enable pairing mode, which you'll complete by letting a bit of air out of each tire bit by bit as instructed.

Here, maybe this will help:

Good luck!

WheelsOfFire/others,

I forgot phones do not show signature info about truck.
23 350 Lariet ultimate with 5er prep and tow technology with 2 plugs in the bed. Camera stuff shipped in boxes with truck, that included the split wire to feed trailer tire tpms module info back to truck.
I installed camera and all works well, (but sure wish Ford would let me see the trailer camera versus bed camera in 3-screen split with CarPlay).

I bought the Ford trailer tire module and 4 ford trailer tire sensors. Plugged that in an no sensors detected. Do I need to run down the road @ 20 mph with ford sensors in trailer tires (I have not done this), or is system supposed To ”just see them” without movement and ask me if I want to activate them?

I can get to the truck tpms activation screen (as if rotating tires); also replacement truck sensor activation screen. Do I just do truck sensors, then truck will ask about doing trailer sensors, or am I supposed to activate trailer tpms sensors someplace else??? I presume that I need to see a screen or input area about trailer tire TPMs someplace before I just start letting air out of trailer tires.

Thanks in advance.
