I have a '19 SD and want to get a TPMS for my camper. Is there a cheaper way to do this and still be able to read it on my truck's screen without buying the ford brand for several hundred dollars?
I've been trying to figure out the same thing. My prior truck last year was a Ram. It had built in TTPMS. It came with sensors that I installed in the four trailer tires and then I could see the trailer tires on a dash display. Now that I have this Ford, what I've been trying to figure out is how can I read the Ram sensors in my trailer tires from the cab of my Ford? Is it even possible?
I do know that there are aftermarket kits all over the web that sell you a stand-alone display and new sensors that work presumably only with that display. But I'd ideally like to read my existing TTPMS sensors because those aren't cheap.

Sensors come in a handful of different frequencies (generally 315 and 433 MHz). As long as the sensors you already have installed are the matching frequency for your application (whether that's a standalone display or the Ford TTPMS sensor) they should work. I don't recall offhand what MHz the Ford TTPMS system uses, but should be pretty easy to look that up. You need to find out what frequency your existing tpms sensors are, and then you can decide what to do.

I believe the only way to get the trailer TPMS to show up on the dash is using the Ford harness. You'll need the main harness, the TPMS receiver along with sensors that work with Ford. Also, the sensors all have small diameter valves, so if you may need to buy the custom made larger hole valve stems. As already mentioned, Nicholsmanufacturingandwelding will have what you need. It will cost some coin but I believe its worth it. Thats how I have my setup along with the camera.
I got a 23 F250 and added the trailer TPMS last week when I try to learn the sensors I have to let out way more than 5psi, I get the horn beep but do not get the green light to proceed to the next tire . So in retrospect I have wasted $600 and still have no TPMS for my trailer yet!

Our 2021 grand design has tire linc and it does display on the truck screen.
However the tire linc is junk took it off and bought aftermarket one with it's own screen works thousand time better .
My KZ is prewired for tirelinc but can't even get the Lippert consul to work and it all one package in mine.
I thought Ford would work and didn't want another screen or phone app

just buy something eles . I spent a day getting my tire linc working to find out it give alarm for no reason and tire pressure and temp woud only change on screen if you turn truck off and back on no matter how far i drive 600 miles an no change unless you reconnect.

I know this is not what your asking but this is the best solution I found, i think it's better than the Ford TPMS and cheaper. I tow a 33 foot travel trailer. Truck System Technologies 507, has a system with it's on display, and you can set alerts by either tire or axle cannot remember. What I like about it, it's a separate display i can monitor and not push any buttons. It also has what i think is the most important feature, the temperature of the air in the tires. If you have a sticking brake you'll see a higher temperature than the other tires, trust me I learned this. I also put metal valve stems with the external sensors so i can change the batteries while camping. Had to do this a few times.

tst 507 is way better then tire linc .
I though the on screen was what i wanted but after have both the 507 hands down better .
Try Nichols welding and fab they have everything for oem trailer tpms

Get one of the sensor tools. No letting out any air. Once the truck is in learning mode, just activate the tool at the appropriate valve stem sensor and the sensor wakes up and checks in with the truck. Easy peazy.
There are cheaper ones, but this one is supposedly Motorcraft and has a higher rating than the cheaper ones.
I tow a 35-ft 5th wheel, and recently upgraded from a 2017 XL 250 to a 2024 Lariat 350. Previously we used the Tire Minder TPMS caps and the smart phone app. It worked ok, but tire filling was a pain and the app was mediocre. It app did at least keep another screen out of the truck, which with the truck screen, Garmin and trailer camera screen and smartphone holder was already quite cluttered.
As part of the new truck I sprang for the ford TPMS system, and let me tell you, the experience has been like, a million times better. I had to re-wire the harness and do some splicing to get things set up on the trailer correctly, and fit the new internal tire sensors at a local tire place, but now everything just works smoothly and displays on the dash without any other screen. As a bonus, the TPMS harness includes the wired camera harness, which I was able to hook up and now displays on the truck screen, even when moving. Towing is now so much better with only the one extra screen for navigation, and trailer cameras on the big 12" screen.
Definitely the premium option at $500 for the TPMS and $300 for the camera, but it makes towing *so* much better, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
