Upgrading my rig

I got a '92 F150 with an I6 - low mileage and good price, but it is missing some creature comforts. First target is to add power windows to both side - and power locks as well, so that I can use a remote to open it to make my getaways My question: is the door of an F150, 250, 350, that comes with factory power windows and doors, i.e. the steel, subframes and everything, the same as the door that only has manual parts? If so, if I found the right interior door panel with power hardware I would be able to install it on my doors - sure, need to do some wiring to go with it.

Yes. The doors are identical. Easy to swap but then you'll need to wire up the switches. Anything from 1992-1996 f150 or 1992-1997 f250/f350 will fit. Earlier years will fit too, but the interior door panels are shaped different, and I don't know if it'll collide with your dash. I don't know if the interior panel fastener holes are in the same spots between 8th Gen and 9th Gen.

There is wiring harness behind dash going from door to door that is not included in a non power door truck.
Also, you will need to add the appropriate circuit breakers to the interior fuse panel to make it work.

Thank you. I was thinking - because 90% of the time I am the only person in the truck, of just putting the switches for the windows of both doors in the middle of the dash. It would simplify the wiring.

I guess I don't follow as to how this would "simplify the wiring", as you'll be cutting and splicing a LOT of wires, not to mention the work required to mount the switches and run all of the extra wiring....

I just started tearing apart another parts truck this past weekend, and in my opinion you'd save a lot of time, and grief, by installing OEM parts (wiring harnesses, switches, etc) in the OEM locations.
