1996 Ford F150 ignition problems
and you shut the motor off, and wait for 15 to 30 seconds, it may start, and it may not. My brother and I have replaced the pickup coil, the main engine coil, and I believe it's called the ignition module, and it is mounted on the inside of the drivers side inner fender. The main coil, and pickup coil inside of distributor was
bought at NAPA. The ignition module was bought at O'Reillys auto parts. I was sure that the first one was bad, so we exchanged it for a new one..... but sometimes it will not start. Beginning to think this one's bad too. I am frustrated with these Chinese built parts! Is there something made in the USA? Maybe from summit racing or else where? Please help! I like driving Ford trucks! Appreciate any and all help! Thank you.
I use LMR or a Ford dealer. Occasionally Amazon.
I have gotten several bad Motorcraft parts from RA. I still use them for other brands just not Motorcraft.
I will often hunt down NOS Ford/Motorcraft before going aftermarket.
Spins/doesn't spin? Spins doesn't catch?
Primes the pump selected at power on each time prior to cranking?
Tested with starting fluid when no-start?
Ever had the computer out?
Occasionally they'll throw a PIP code, but not 100%
Most Mototrcraft stuff, sadly is China now made, but does have to meet Ford standards & QA is pretty consistent & worth buying over something else.
But a noid light and 2 inline spark testers and a fuel pressure gauge is a start
A code test is in there right at the start as well
I got a feeling your processor has some bad capacitors (they cause intermittent misfires and no starts when they leak and start failing
I agree to find Motorcraft or Ford parts regardless of price
New Old Stock is what I look for first on Ebay
