What would cause no fire on a 75 F150 w/390? Changed coil pick up, ignition module, coil, and condenser. Have 12v. at coil and at module, but no fire coming out of coil. Any help would be appreciated.
I would look closely at the + and - wires(the two smaller ones) that run to the coil. If these have chaffed and are going to ground you would have no spark. Let us know what you find.
How funny that I should see this posted for I went through the exact same thing on my 78 F250 ranger. The difference is I have a 400 but I would think you might have the same problem. Mine started by snapping and popping and dying on the road. Luckily it started again and I was able to get home. Then the frustration begain. Assuming bad coil or the easy snap connection to the coil. Replaced coil and hardwired the wires to the coil. No good. Then continuity checked all wires from the ignition module to the coil all good. Replaced the ignition module and no change. Frustration really setting in now. voltage all checks out at coil during starting yet no fire from coil. On a gamble I decided to buy another ignition module for a spare. And low and behold tried it and it fired right up. Took the module back claiming bull##### and even though an electronic part they honored the problem. So right out of the box the ignition module was bad.
