Delete Tuners

Hello!
I have a 2015 F 350 6.7 Powerstroke and I want to drive with it the Panamericana. I`m afraid of all the emission systems of the truck and I want to know if I can delete them and if yes how. I found out that there are 2 tuners which can do that: Bully Dog SCT BDX and Minimaxx V2.
I have some questions:- Can I just delete only the EGR system with both tuners?
- Do I have to remove the DPF system physically when I only delete the EGR with both tuners?
- Can I reset the carsoftware back to the origin with both tuners?
- Is it possible to run the car with High Sulfur Diesel after deleting the DEF with both tuners?
- Can I delete trouble codes with these tuners?
- Which tuner would you recommend?

Thank you very much for your answers and excuse my bad english, I`m german.

If you are that afraid of the truck then why did you buy it. I have a 15 and mine is still stock and runs and drives fine.Leave the truck alone and you will get many years of service out of it stock.

Welcome to FTE... Your ingles is not too shabby.

Number 1, you mean this:

Number 2: if you are going to delete, the EGR cooler can stay installed but unplugged BUT the DPF has to be REMOVED and a straight pipe installed.

Number 3: Looking at Bully Dog's webpage, the Bully Dog BDX tuner will read and clear DTCs. It also supports custom tuning, via an UPDATER app which allows the device firmware to be updated as well as tune revision or to upload custom tunes >>> which would be the delete tunes you chose to go with because any BDX tuner you buy now will be preloaded with emissions on tunes. It also has a LIVELINK app to view, data log, record and play back your vehicle's PCM data on a laptop. BUT there's this from their website:

"Cloud-based tune delivery over built-in WiFi means that the BDX will always be running the latest tuning, enabling you to stay one step ahead of the pack."

I don't know if this would prevent you from running delete tunes because I have heard of these tuners automatically updating and removing the delete tunes from the unit. Maybe the WiFi would have to be shut off... I don't know much about these flash tuners, I just went to the website and found this stuff, plus what I have read on here and online.

The Mini Maxx V2 looks to be the same tuner as the Bully Dog GT Diesel Performance Tuner/Monitor, which can read and clear DTCs, but with delete tunes... There's also EZ Lynk Auto Agent 3 and at least one more. Are you planning on buying a package kit to get the delete pipe as well? And those titanium 8mm EGR bolts on the hot side supply to the cooler have been known to snap, so there's that if you planning to do this yourself or even have a shop do this. There are tool kits out there to address the broken EGR bolt(s) -- there's two of them.

The EPA has come down hard on delete tune writers and delete equipment manufacturers here in the US. You will have to do your research on this for the tunes, but it looks like you already get them with the Mini Maxx V2... as to recommendations, I do not have experience with this as I am stock with zero issues.

Thank you!
I bought the truck because i am convinced that it is the best truck to carry my heavy camper. But it is a difference if you drive in Europe or the US where you get parts and assistance or if you get stucked in the middle of Bolivia because of a stupid sensor. Thats the reason i am thinking about deleting the emission system.

Thank you!
Very informative.
Another reason for me to think about deleting the emission system is that I don`t know if the system is made for levels over 12.000feet. I know positively that european trucks like Sprinter etc. will get a clogged DPF. Do you know if the Ford will make it?
Would it be a solution to carry all the sensors with me or is that too expensive?
Last thing: In your post you want to show me something of the website of Bully Dog but I can`t see anything.

You're welcome... you're right about that, about being in Bolivia and not finding parts... Where's the truck from, how many miles and did you get maintenance records with it? Truthfully though, as long as the 6.7 is worked, which having an in-bed camper on the truck, running the mountains and mud roads, should keep the emissions hot and happy. It's when the truck does a lot of city stop and go driving, short trips where it doesn't get fully hot is where the problems come in... but I can see your point about wanting to delete but remember, a used truck is still a used vehicle and even deleted trucks still have issues. Who is going to do the job if you move forward with this?

I bought it in Germany, but it comes originally from Texas. It has 60.000 miles on. No records, but I did a big service including all liquids, breaks, a new cooler etc.
I have a good mechanic who is specialised on american Ford. On the road I can do pretty much on my own.

What do you think about the height problem and taking all the sensors with me?

You are right about finding parts in other countries. Do you know if the truck is tuned anyway? Simple to check just look for the DPF and the SCR rocket ship. If it isn't a straight pipe than truck is stock.

Shame, that’s a bit far. I have a house in the Eifel and a farm in Département Nord-Pas de Calais.

I started typing a lengthy response and lost it... I will post more later at some point. Lots to think about for you...

Will your mechanic do the delete for you if you buy the equipment? When I had my 2014 deleted in Nov 2018 there was a diesel performance shop that did the delete (provided the tuner too) plus added the upgraded cooler pipe and CP4 fuel injection kit. Total cost was about $2600.
I deleted my EGR myself and it wasn't needed and freed a little bit of engine space.
Your reasoning for delete is sound. I wouldn't recommend it to be more fuel efficient.
If I was pulling a trailer I would definitely upgrade the fuel tank to a 60 gal.
