What is everyone's boost number cruising at 70mph flat on the freeway? Just trying to compare to mine. I'm sitting between 7-8 psi. Just curious. I'm not getting the gas mileage I expect.
that is about rite.
these trucks were not made to cruise at 70 MPH. at that speed i would expect 14 mpg or so.
drop it down to 60 and you should see about 2 mpg better.
I'm seeing 10mpg in most or some cases. That's just from reading from the gauge. I did ran a 40 mile trip where it looked like I was getting 15mpg. I have a cclb and pulling no weight. It's pretty surprising that mpg varies so much between trucks. Good to hear that my boost number are normal. It's safe to say that I have boost leaks
Depends what gear, tire size and rpm you are turning at 70MPH. With my the factory turbo running 3.55 285-75-16 tires at 65MPH I was at 1600, 1700 rpm i was about 0-2 psi and got a whopping 17.5 mpg on flat ground with no wind on my factory setup with 160/0 injectors
My average mph highway is about 70-80 rpm around 2000-2300rpm 7-9 psi, and mpg on average is 15 mph (rebuild engine, rebuild trans, 160/0 injectors, tune, super duty turbo with billet wheel etc)
I have 245/75R16s on dually steelies. 4.10:1. S5-47 trans. 70mph seems around 2500RPM, so it could be an efficiency thing as these heads flow so poorly they need the RPM to keep EGT down.
Also stock turbo here but 1.0 turbine w billet wheel. 205/30s on stock tune. No IC. Springs and pushrods done. Larger HPOP. Basic stuff.
