I have a 2018 F250 4WD diesel with a Carli commuter kit on it. Everytime I turn on 4WD high I get a clunking noise in the front end that happens when I go over bumps. I've taken it to 3 different shops and no one can figure out what it is. We've replaced drag bar, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends. Any idea what would cause the clunking when I shift into 4WD? I see lots of videos on the Youtube about bolts not being torqued to the wright spec. Each shop says they checked all that but who knows.
My truck does this when the hubs are locked. To me that proves it's the U-joints. I only have 87k miles so it's kind of a bummer. We've only got 6 weeks of winter left here, so I plan to just deal with it next winter.
I watched the video in your other post. I do not think the ujoint is bad as such but I don’t think there should be that much movement out into the hub. It has been to long since I have been into one of those things but I wonder if the snap ring come loose back inside hub assy.
