I am in the process of getting all my parts together to install a new 302 in my 68’ F100. I am changing from the FE 360. I already have the correct perches from a donor. What is the proper size and length of the bolts to connect the engine perches to the truck frame?
I am new to the hobby and cannot find the info in my shop manuals.
Funny, but I thought the truck perches for the 302 were welded in place in '75 instead. So obviously I'm no help.
Even my '79 with 400 has them bolted in though, so maybe I'm thinking about the Broncos only. But I thought I remembered them being welded.
I'm guessing you know they're bolt-in, because you already have the donor perches. Did you remove them from the donor yourself?
Sorry don't have your bolt size answer. They're probably 7/16 or 1/2, but that's just a SWAG (scientific, wild-assed guess) just randomly thrown out there!
If so, in a pinch you can tell from the size of the head about 90% of the time. Or you could just remove one to verify.
I wonder if they're different between 2wd and 4wd.

The information you seek is in the Master Parts Catalog not the shop manual. You can buy an MPC if you can figure out how to use it. All the bolts I've seen were 3/8-16 grade 5, flange bolts. I don't recall the length, but 1 inch should be about right. You can get those at Tractor Supply.
