I’ve spent the last few weeks diagnosing boost leaks, and installing a new KC Stage 1 turbo on my 7.3….
got everything back together and did another boost leak test to ensure I got everything together ok.
problem I’m having is now when I pressurize the boost system, I get massive air coming out the CCV vent and oil dipstick. Everything I’m reading says bad rings. My truck fires up on cold starts just fine. It runs great. I can’t imagine I have bad rings but I’m stressing about it. Anything else that can cause air to pressurize the crank case? Maybe valves weren’t seated? I didn’t try turning the engine and pressurizing again to see if it changes. When I did this prior to replacing the turbo I didn’t have this problem.
Project for another day, unfortunately I don’t have the time right now!
I have absolutely zero blow by, both on cold starts and when it’s warm… I guess I’ll just have to run it and when I have time I’ll hook it up for a compression test
