I am finally back in my truck full time and couldn't be happier! Well, there are a few quirks I'd like to get worked out, and one has been plaguing me for some time now. My door locks are a little funky. The lock switches on both passenger and driver panels work, but the unlocks do not. The key fob unlock works, and the keypad unlock works. I feel like I've researched the issue before but have not had luck, although many years have passed. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hello fellow forum users,
I am finally back in my truck full time and couldn't be happier! Thanks!
Basically have the same problem. First of all, I have replaced all the door locks actuators and after that, everything was working fine for weeks. Then I noticed FOB... would unlock driver's door, but nothing else. Would LOCK everything. Somedays... FOB won't do anything... no lock noise at all when trying to unlock door. Have to use key.
Yesterday... FOB worked fine locking and unlocking all doors when I took spouse shopping. Oh... and using the door buttons, locks always work!
Then on occasion the idiot light on dash for DOOR NOT CLOSED came on whenever. I thought that might help me figure out which door had a short or something.... nope... one time this door would turn off light.... next time a different door ! %^!)*!
Thanks for the response, looks like it's probably the VSM. I've found a few other posts about people having theirs repaired and what not. Anyone have any luck with this recently?
the VSM is in a position to get water dripping down from the windshield.
as old as these trucks are, if there is any rust around the bottom of the windshield, it will leak.
