Hi... New to the forums...
2010 F150 RWD 4.6 XLT.
My parking brake light is permanently on with the annoying chimes, which stop within 3-5 minutes. But with the light on my cruise control won't work. Greenaway Ford in Orlando say it's a bad BCM which they want $1800 to replace! There are no other electronic abnormalities. I've changed out the parking brake switch and it did nothing.
I'm looking for any ideas? Or if not, maybe a shop here in Orlando that can fix the problem for less that $1800!
Thanks.......,
If you want to second guess the dealership technician's diagnosis, you need to start by scanning the system to see what it's complaining about. Anything else is just guessing and hoping to get lucky.
The parking brake switch is only one of the several potential reasons for a constantly illuminated brake warning light. The brake fluid level switch is another. Those are the easy ones, after that it gets a lot harder and is going to be electrical/electronic.
