So I checked My front brakes today before a trip. The right side looked good. The left side was almost gone with the inner pad being more worn than the outside pad.
so I changed the pads and the caliper and hose on the left side. It still seems to drag more than the other side. What else do I look for? Or does it need to brake in?
I bled them but could this be caused if I did not get all the air out?
Thanks

The inner and outer pads are different. If the pads are mixed up, the caliper can bind. The inner pads’ backing plate has two ears on the top of the pad that match up to the brake caliper pistons. The outer pad has a chamfer on the top.
The pads have the same ears that rest in the lands of the caliper bracket. It is possible to install the caliper over the mixed-up pads and install the guide pins. It is also possible to get two inboard pads on one side and two outboard pads on the other side.
Yes I saw this and have double checked it. They are in correct both before and after.
I can see the initial issue being the caliper so I changed it and the hose. I did this last time to the other side.
the reman caliper came with the mounting brackets and slide pins assembled as a unit.

There have been reports of inconsistent pad material thickness in aftermarket pads. Try a set of Ford or Motorcraft pads.

Yep. Had a set of NAPA pads and rotors recently on my 87 that were really tight. After driving for a few minutes the breaks would get hot and even tighter ( from expansion because of heat I’m guessing) Replaced them with a different brand and problem solved.
