Right on. I will paint my old one and change the seals.
The motor is out. I am going to sleep better tonight. Didn't remove the trans dipstick bolt. I removed the ground strap from the firewall but not the head. Something was snagging up and didn't seem right. With a little prying it came loose. The whole process was easy aside from my nerves. With the dipstick out it should install a lot easier. Probably going to get a new dipstick and try out the ATS dipstick fix.
Has anyone used the ATS dipstick fix adapter with o rings?
Nice, we are all on the same page. I got Ford oil cooler o rings. I got all crazy and dropped the exhaust manifolds, up pipes, and turbo housing to get cerakoted.
Does anyone have experience with the ATS o ring transmission dipstick fix?
The big air filter that Riff Raff sells are those a bad idea? Do they dust out the motor?
The trubo inlet orange hose is known to crack under the turbo
Get the boot kit or upgrade to bigger plenums if you can find the spider at a decent price
That's the filter I am using. Glad to hear it is good.
I bought the billet intake manifolds from Riff Raff. I am running the Banks intercooler kit so I have to keep the smaller inlet size manifolds.
Here are a couple pics of my fuel set up. I run WVO on a two tank setup similar to the one Bitterroot sells. I installed it about eight years ago. There are two separate efuel systems with check valves so the fuels never mix. The WVO system is on the passenger side frame and goes into the rear ports. The diesel filter, regulator, and pump are on the drivers side frame. The diesel fuel lines use the front ports. You can see the check valve screwed into the driven diesel fuel block.
Unless yours are trashed I'd use them. No experience with aftermarket ones here. Chances are if yours are decent they will outlast any aftermarket ones.
YES THEY DO. And the crap that ends up in your cooling system is the stuff of nightmares.Since you are doing an engine swap put a new cooler on. It's worth the $100 to not have to clean up the mess.
****, I just prepped and painted my old one yesterday. I am not working on the motor next week. A new one can be here before I start assembly.
I have a nice motor building smorgasbord going now. All the stuff is cleaned and painted. The up pipes, exhaust, and turbo snail are the only things I am waiting on.
Installing the front cover, water pump, HPOP soon. I lightly coat o rings before I install them. The water pump gasket is basically an o ring. Should I lightly oil the water pump gasket?
