The internet says California will get a week of heavy rain. However, the weather guessers don't mention any rain at all in their 10-day forecast, so I am not going to worry about it.
Safeway has apples advertised at 97¢ per pound. I grabbed a few pounds. It rang up as almost $10, then 99¢ after the discount. Whatever the mistake is in the checkout computer, it's a small win for me. You guys might get lucky with this deal also.

And as we speak, the sun just disappeared on my block. The news says up to 4 inches in the mountains. The interweb weather says SF is expected to rain through Friday.

Weather guy last night said the system that is off the coast is "wobbling all around", so it makes it difficult to predict. We were scheduled for some overnight rain. We got some wind, but no rain.
Well it has been raining up here at the North End of the Sacramento Valley since about 7:00 AM. Not sure how much we have gotten yet, but the forecast went from 40% chance of rain today and 75% tomorrow to 95% and 4% respectively.
Nice and sunny here, a little bit chilly though. Went to the repair shop, and only one person was there. Truck is in the same position as it was Friday night. Looks like nothing was done to it. I am getting a bit frustrated with this ordeal. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB and contact my handler at the VA and see if there is anything the VA can do to light a fire under the bums. I was told they would be finished yesterday and then taken it out for a test drive. That didn't happen...
What I've learned about auto repair is that it doesn't always go according to plan. Things happen. Maybe not what you want to happen. The worse is that it's taking them longer than they expected, and you get charged for the extra time. Like when they estimate a job at 4 hours, but it actually took 6 hours. Then you have to pay for the extra labor.
Not always. back when I had my settlement money and bought a Jaguar XJS I took it to my favorite mechanic who gave me an estimate of $500 to replace two of the four catalytic converters (it had four mufflers too, I don't know how that engine breathed). It ended up taking him all day, but he did not charge me for the extra hours. He did tell me he would not work on that car again though. LOL
