Happy Saturday Nor-Cal. Our church is having a couples event today from 9am until 3pm, and I volunteered to watch their children. There will be several of us there teaching them crafts, playing games etc. Should be fun, or chaos. LOL
Happy Monday all! Another Dr appointment to go to today.
I have received three letters from HUD in the past two weeks. The first one stated my portion of the rent would be lowered from $301 to $297. Then last Friday, I received two letters from them. One stated that my portion of the rent will go from $297 to $357. Say what? Then the second letter states it will go from $357 to $346. Um...okay... make up your mind. In two weeks, my portion of the rent changed three times. I sure wish the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. Now I just need my income to go up $45 and I'll be fine. Of course, this means the COLA raise I will get in January is already gone...
Steamed Eggs. A very popular dish in some parts of the world. Not yet available at Panda Express.
There's a place down in Willow Glen called The Table. We have breakfast there once in a while(they actually don't serve "breakfast", but you can get brunch starting at 9:00). They serve a number of dishes with what they call a 63° C egg. I like their corned beef hash with the 63° C egg.
Happy Tuesday Nor-Cal. I'm going to try and eat as much free food as I can this Friday, or Saturday depending on which day the restaurants have the Veteran's Day offers. My plan is Denny's for breakfast for a free grand slam, then Texas Roadhouse for lunch (if my truck is done in time, as it is too far to go by scooter, and make it back) and then Applebee's for dinner.
I'm not quite ready to buy a sous vide kit. Although I can see the usefulness. I can't imagine the time & effort to vacuum pack my food, then slowly boil it in the bag for hours. But I guess with eggs in a shell, you don't have to vacuum pack it. It sounds like a great idea for people who work from home. Or retired people who have nothing to do except sit around and wait for the sous vide. But it's not yet practical for my lifestyle.
