Fuel and Air filters are the two items that need to be Motorcraft on these trucks. I wouldn't risk it to save $30 on a fuel filter set. There has to be a reason that Purolator filter is much cheaper.
When I emailed Donaldson about their filters, I believe they stated that their primary filters do not contain the water separation film, for lack of the proper term at this time, or the internal valve in the secondary filter allowing the system to be primed and allowing air to be bled off... I'll try and find that email...
But x2 on sticking with the Motorcraft fuel filter set.
Obviously with a 2019 I have even fewer aftermarket options... but nope, don't do it. Not worth it, IMHO. When I had a 2004.5 Dodge, the Purolator fuel filter was 18 microns, no water stripping rating... the OEM spec was 7 microns and honestly that application really need a 5 micron or less fuel filter with the rates 3rd gen dodges ate fuel injectors.
Called the local Ford dealership parts dept. For the two Motorcraft fuel filters and and oil filter the cost is $180. I normally support local business if the price is close but not this time.

Ouch, I didn't realize the 2011-2016 were more expensive than the fairly expensive 2017+ fuel filters. Sheesh.. really makes you think about grabbing a pair of FB1311's....

That extra little hose clip is mighty special, that's likely the culprit. The 2017+ don't require it, so you save $20 a kit...

That part number set includes a 2124 oil filter...
