P0705 Code: Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)

Hello,

This summer, I changed out the Transmission Ranger Sensor under the automatic transmission of my F250 LD 1998. I had no start and no crank problem. I found out it was the ranger sensor by troubleshooting. The truck has been running fine since then. This morning just after starting it, I got a P0705 but it started fine.

Does someone have hints ?

Clea the code and see if it returns.

If it does, you have either a damaged wire between the PCM and the TRS, or a failing TRS.

Hi Mark,

The TRS is new (standard motor products) from Rockauto,

If it is TRS, do you recommend a FORD OEM ?

If I remember correctly standard products makes the OEM sensor.
