I did the ‘08 style on mine years ago, got mine from A1Auto prior to their Trail Ridge model, way before the the latest style was introduced on the pickups. They were 100% plug and play on my ‘05, that came with the baby paddle mirrors, the ‘08s have power, heat, turn and running lights. Between the 3 versions I prefer the '08s full rectangular shape vs the clipped top corner of the late model ones, and after looking into utv side mirrors as an alternative option, personal preference still wins, the reason they make all of those ice cream flavors. My EX is our dedicated tow rig, so the mirrors are almost always extend and they don’t vibrate at all, I’m very happy with them at about the 10 year mark.
For your 2003 EX, since you want to keep heat and power while adding marker lights, look for OEM style replacement mirrors specifically built for your year and trim. Brands like Spieg and TYC make affordable aftermarket options that maintain all your existing functions and include integrated marker lights. RockAuto is your best starting point since you can filter by exact year, make, and trim to guarantee compatibility. Just make sure the listing includes the mirror glass and not just the housing. Should be a straightforward plug and play swap without any wiring modifications needed!
I noticed the new camper's awning support sits a lot more forward than the old camper's blocking some of might right side vision, how does the newer mirrors compare with the OEM jelly bean version when it comes to seeing down the right side of the camper?
