First generation Ford explorer..
Hi all.. any help is greatly appreciated.. I have a 1992 ford explorer 2 door sport.. I bought it in Spain last year. A one owner car from new with 68 thousand miles on it with full service history.. I am from Ireland and I am currently trying to import the truck.. the import office have asked me for an engine number and I am unable to find one anywhere on the engine.. I have found a sticker on the rocker cover that reads..1G944AA…. The VIN is 1FMCU24X3MUD17799.. any help would be greatly appreciate and thank you in advance for any assistance.. regards Derek

The rocker cover has the emission sticker label on it correct? Just give them that number. Do they really know what they are looking for? I doubt it. Everything over here where it was built is tied to the last digits of the VIN. That is how everything is related to that particular vehicle. It is "born" with the last sequential numbers of the VIN.

Thank you for this information 👍 I have had this argument with them.. I had an appointment with them last Thursday I was asked 2 questions one about proof of address no issues and then the 64 thousand dollar question.. do I have the engine number so I said yes and gave them the rocker cover number.. she didn’t even bat an eye lid just punched it into the computer and that was that… so it now seems like it’s sorted.. 👍👍I will know this week.. again thank you for the advice
