I am working on an electric fan project with ac AC condenser. Rather than take my truck apart and have it sit while I measure and build everything. I was going to buy a used radiator and use it. I found one locally from a bump. The owner says its from a 302 truck. I don't care about the fins I just need the frame of the radiator to be the same as mine. Which is a 69 with a 360. Are the radiators basically the same in the mounting and such?
Is the radiator out of a bumpside truck? This is just a guess on whether the same radiator was used with 360s and 302s but there were two different core supports. One core support was in the 4x4s and f350s which used a bigger radiator. The other core support was put in everything else and used the radiator like with your 360. So if the other radiator is out of a bump, it should mount directly to the face of the core support like yours.
Turns out its from a 1969 F100 with a 302. Mine is a 1969 F100 with a 360. So it looks like its the same as what I have if I read everything correctly.
Thank you. Its been my experience to use factory parts where possible. My electric fan is out of a Mercedes https://www.am-autoparts.com/product...-36895685.html
The shroud is actually cast aluminum and these fans have been proven to be bullet proof. Plus they are very slim. It will allow me to move the radiator back to make it easier for my AC condenser and new trans cooler. If I do this right everything will be easily serviceable.
The answer is, it might be the same. I pulled a core support from a 72 with a 302 to go in 68 with a 360 and the radiator was smaller and so was the hole in the core support. The height was the same, it just wasn't as wide
