Question banged up radiator fins?

does an 01 have a grille to protect the radiater? if not is there a tool that can straighten them out. mine looks like its been in a rock fight. havent owned my truck very long so im not sure if it causes overheating. hate to find out on my first trip.

You can find a " Fin Comb " at an HVAC Supply store. Takes a lot of work but it's cheaper than a new radiator.

Is is your radiator or you AC condenser? On my dads, its the AC, which doesnt matter becasue he hardly uses it. But either way, it should be fixed.

about 30% of mine have been bent up since I had my truck and never had a problem with it overheating. That is with driving fairly rugularly from N.E. OK. to N.E. PA. and never turning the truck off once. (1236 miles, oprox. 18 hours). I just havn't been willing to pay the $20.00 for the comb.

I second the fin comb from the HVAC supply house. It is meticulous work but it can save you from overheating. Also check out the foaming coil cleaners at the supply house. They work very well. fin comb + coil cleaner = great heat transfer!
