Steering Stabilizer Maintenance

I was looking at the scheduled maintenance in the manual and did not see anything on steering stabilizer. I am thinking that maybe a 20,000 mile replacement or once a year if you drive more would be a good maintenance service.

It would keep the front end components from excessive vibration from a worn out shock. If you are running twin shock system you could probably double that.

I was just wondering what some of you think about adding this to the maintenance rotation.

I always just look to see if it's leaking, and check for play. Replace as necessary. I've had them go 20k, I've had them go 80k. Depends a LOT on the roads you drive on.

I unbolted mine and put on a Bilstein as soon as I got home. That was my maintenance program.

I am looking at the Bilstein 5100 single shock for the replacement.

I thought I would change them before they blow out.

Mine was shot at 10k miles. I installed a FOX stabilizer. Much nicer!

I plan on swapping out both the shocks and the steering damper with Bilstein 5100's. It's crazy, but at not even 6K miles, the factory shocks are hosed...

I swapped mine, which I assume was OEM at about 85k with the Bilstein, along with changing out my shocks for KYB's. OEM shocks have gone WAY down hill in recent years.

I just did this on my 2019 and it's so much better than the wore out factory components.
