Why not? Isn't this forum here for people who want to do things that aren't part of the everyday course of action? and your solution is wrong. The DRLs and the parking lights are not the same.

Why would you want the DRL‘s on while the vehicle is in Park.
This is something I've thought would be nice too. IMO it's a bit weird to start the truck remotely, lights illuminated, you get in and put the key in (or push the Start button) and the DRL's turn off, then you put it in reverse or drive and the DRL's turn back on. Just odd behavior by whoever designed it.
Considering they are DRIVING lights, no, it isn't weird at all that they turn off when the vehicle is in PARK. They are only intended to illuminate when the vehicle is in gear. It's only since they went to the 'headlight surround' style that they turn on when you remote start - previously (and on my wife's 1500 w/o premium lighting), only the running/parking lights are on.
Personally I hate DRLs and turn them off on every vehicle that has an option to do so. They're annoying and only serve to draw power from the alternator IMHO. I know they aren't useful for avoiding accidents, had a friend who was driving with the sun behind them, a pickup turned directly in front of them despite his DRLs and he had no time to react. Other driver says he never saw my friend.
