My 2020 F350 has an issue with the cruise control that is intermittent. I have only noticed it when towing our fifth wheel but then most of it's highway use is towing. When I set the the cruise and come up behind a slower vehicle the adaptive cruise will slow it down but when I go to pass it will just keep dropping speed and not go back to my set speed. I have found if I use the accelerator to get my speed back up it will reactivate the cruise. Also, sometimes when going up an incline it will just keep losing speed instead of downshifting and trying to regain my set speed. Again, if use the accelerator it will reactivate it. I'm sure if I take to my dealer it will probably work just fine and it may be that it only happens when I'm towing. Any thoughts?
This is why I don't use and disable adaptive cruise in anything I own/drive. Keeps me paying attention to the road, and I don't have to deal with how finicky the system is.
Also, I don't know if it says it anymore, but owners manuals used to recommend NOT using cruise while towing...I don't really know why but it used to be the recommendation (not that anyone, including me, ever followed that recommendation).
Yup, that is the fix, turn the adaptive crap off.
I never understand the people who want that feature, and especially the ones that want to go through the hassles and expense of adding it to a truck that didn't come with it.
And, no, there hasn't been any recommendation to not use cruise when towing in ages, at least all the way back to 2012 when I had my last Super Duty.

I tow with Adaptive Cruise Control on without any issues. When I come up on a slower vehicle, it does slow to match their speed. But when I pass it goes right back up to the set speed.
never had a problem with adaptive cruise (2022). I am still getting used to it and being old, usually click it off when approaching slower traffic. I have tested it and it slowed down for slower vehicle and when I moved over to pass, the truck sped up just like it's advertised to do
I've ben in my 2024 F250 XLT for a little under a week. I found out today, accidentally, that when you turn the cruise control on, it automatically sets itself to the speed you're currently driving. Is that normal for Ford trucks? I'm coming from a Tundra. On that, the cruise on/off button only turns the cruise on or off - you'd have to set it separately.

Aye, that's pretty standard on many makes and models. It saves you an extra step to set the speed: turning on Cruise Control turns it on and sets it at exactly the speed you're currently driving at.

That's a requested feature that there are quite a few posts about on the forum. My 2017 requires two buttons to set cruise control.

So, I guess I need to evolve and learn to use something new, huh?
