So, I recently purchased a 1975 F100 with a 360 Pancake in it. It was running fine, then out of nowhere it would try to turn over, but never start. I have replaced the DuraSpark, Ignition Coil, and Starter Solenoid, however, I cannot get the truck to start at all. It's getting fuel, might it be the Spark Plugs or Wires?
highly unlikely that enough of the plugs/wires went back to make it not start.
have you checked for spark? the pickup coil in the distributor can go bad causing a no-spark condition. you could pop the distributor cap off and make sure the distributor rotor turns while you crank the engine.
Might just be me but sounds like an ignition issue if it cranks. Pull plugs and make sure each is firing. Can also put a spark plug tester in the line and see if it's getting a pulse. If you have the ability to do so I'd the test light so you don't have to pull every plug but if you suspect something more major a compression test might not hurt. Does seem like it's ignition so might inspect some wiring and check for rodent damage. Does it putter at all or just straight cranking?
