There is a spring that locks into three places on the horn. You have to push down and turn it counter clockwise to get the tabs off the spring and it will release.

Really old post,but that horn puppy reappears all the time,I am the proud owner of all three insert assembly’s that attach the horn button. New steering wheel.new dash. When I drove my truck home after I bought it in the very south of Texas only a few miles from the Mexico border. The only item that worked after driving an hour,was the horn and the speedometer. Mind you and a fresh safety inspection,with a bill of sale, but no title. Opps, Got that horn kit from Mid Fifty. And again my horn stopped working. Installed all the old stuff and wa la my horn works. Got to have that in a safety inspection, but in Texas a horn can get you shot! They call it road rage!AJ.
