I have replaced the turn signal/horn cam on my 68 F100 BUT can't get horn to sound via connection to steering shaft. I can ground to column tube or running wire to chassis ground but can not get sound via contact with steering wheel or even directly grounding to steering shaft. I assume if relay was bad wouldn't get sound regardless of where grounded
I would think that’s true.
Any wiring mods been done to the truck previous to this? Did the horn work up to a point, then stop?
Does your steering shaft have a rag joint by any chance? Or the typical bell type “tulip joint“ that a lot of the old trucks had?
I may have missed read your post, but did the problem start after you replace the part in the turn signal switch? Or was it already there, and that’s why you replaced the part?
Sorry for all the questions, but figured it would help us all drill down into your problem.
