Cluster swap mayhem
Got myself a nice gauge cluster from an 87-88 ranger that has the double plug and tach to swap into my 83 ranger. Cluster on my truck has the single 18 pin plug. I have the oem diagram and made my own pin out for it. The 87-88 cluster has two plugs, one brown 18 pin plug and one 14 pin grey plug. I’ve searched the far reaches of the internet and have been getting an incredible amount of conflicting info as to what pin goes to what on the 87-88 dash. Any help would be much appreciated. I’ll do a write up if I happen to be successful. And yes, I checked the guide on TRS; that’s for a double plug to double plug cluster swap which does not apply to me.
