Okay, I'm back with some more obscurities. What's it take to swap in the tach gauge set? I had someone say it was a direct plug-n-play, but I'm skeptical. One plug has more contacts than the other one and they're in different locations. Has anyone done this without butchery? Thanks again in advance
It is plug and play, but with a catch. When I did mine, I swapped in the entire gauge cluster since it also came with a tripometer, which I wanted.
Otherwise, you need the printed circuit board on the back of the cluster, which isn't easy to remove.
Which plug are you talking about? With mine, I unplugged the big plug out of the back of the non-tach cluster, and then plugged it into the new gauge cluster. Fired the engine up and the tach sprung right to life.
