instrument clusters
got a 92 f150 5.0l auto.
were going to a junkyard in the next few days,im wondering if i can swap a cluster with a tach in?
iv read it can be done.but i one person saids it has to be a 94-95 or a 93-94.
can someone help me out?

The tachometer are the same for Gas clusters but there is no place to put a tachometer into a non-tachometer cluster.
Yes he needs a 1992-1993 cluster for plug and play.
Any other year will require wiring swaps from plug to plug.

As a testament to how easy this swap is, I was able to do it with no issues!! As Subford said, you need a 92-93 cluster that is not from a diesel. The only panel you will use from your current truck is the speedo/odometer panel. You will use the oil pressure/engine temp and the voltage/fuel gauge, as well as the tach from the donor vehicle.

As stated above if swap your old center module (speedometer, PSOM & odometer) you will still have your trucks mileage and set up.

welp at pink n save we got the cluster bezel for 10 bucks no cracks or anything with the dual tank switch.thats a score. on ebay there wanting 100-200bucks.
the guy said they had complete truck,but they was on hold witch sucks.have to go back and check in a couple days or weeks for the other parts.
