Hard telling why they made this change. They do save a few bucks and then make a few bucks with many owners replacing them. Around $300.00 buckaroos if you need the whole vacuum manifold also, later 24 builds will need the whole kit and kaboodle as I had to do with the Limited, March Build. Seems like a financial decision but I think there may be more behind it, we'll see. If you keep the driver side locked to even out the axle you get the knuckle joint binding up during sharp left turns so maybe why they have not completely done away with the Lockers. Who knows!

Spanning a decade and a half, I had a very close and loving relationship with a gorgeous 2008 F250 Lariat, Black/Silver with Chrome package, that I purchased new and babied to only 155k miles... sigh ... it had nice creature comforts and some terrific tech for its time. including extending side mirrors, adjustable pedals, remote start, bluetooth audio, rearview camera, brake controller, sunroof, supple leather, retractable tonneau, toughbed, etc etc .... sigh ... unfortunately, on one of our regular trips from SC to NH the 6.4 powerstroke had a mild/medium stroke, cracked its pistons, dumped fuel into the oil pan and diesel particulate filter .... arrrgh ... luckily it got us and the horses all the way home, but appears to have succumbed to its injuries in its last and valiant defense of its loving family ... RIP and godspeed dear friend

My scheduled date was next Monday, the 6th. Did my daily check for the window sticker and viola it's there today. I checked the progress email and it shows in production so I guess it got moved to this week. No email update, yet. How long are they generally in production? I did get the spray bed liner so I know it has to go somewhere for that.

No it doesn't so I guess this is what happens before it does actually get started. My build week is next week. At least I feel like it's going to happen. Thanks for the clarification.

My truck showed up on my dealer's website for sale and in stock. It won't be built until next week. I'm not sure why they do this with special orders. When I was searching for a truck before mine was scheduled I kept running into this. I would think I had found what I wanted but when I would look at the window sticker it would be a special order. An inquiry to the dealer would confirm it was an order for a customer.
