After waiting 15 loooong months for my new F-250 it was finally delivered last evening to my dealer. I stopped by the dealer this AM to check things out things out only to find the truck was built as an 8ft bed instead of the 6.5ft bed. The dealer admitted they made a mistake BUT the only fix is to re-order another truck since they have nothing other than XL's on the lot. After a few minutes of walking around the lot trying to cool myself down so I didn't snap at someone, I just left and said I'd be back later today or tomorrow to discuss next steps.
Now I see why my dealer was so serious and insistent that I go over the order sheet with a fine tooth comb and sign it.
I might think twice about your decision, were I you. I recognize that you've spent what seems like eons waiting on a particular truck built exactly how you wanted. However, the 18" of extra bed space isn't that big of a deal, unless it's an issue of your storage (garage). Yes, your turn radius is slightly bigger, but my '24 F350 176"WB turns amazingly well. In exchange for taking the long bed, you may likely get the extra bed space, a more comfortable ride, greater payload, 48 gallon fuel tank, your truck now, and there should be a transition offer from Ford sitting on that truck. Mine was worth $6k (Limited model) and there's no way I'd want to give that away. Will the dealer honor the $6k on another truck? Where the transition offer is directly from Ford based on your '23 order not being fulfilled, I don't know if it's transferrable, now that your order has been filled. Just my two cents...
transition offer? What’s that. Ford didn’t give me anything for my 539 day wait but a 3k dollar price Increase.
CC/SB 6.7 XLT 3.55 360 toughbed etc. Ordered 1/17, built 3/10, shipped 4/4, delivered 4/19. My 18 6.2 4.30 truck was quicker off the line but this is like a freight train lol. Should be interesting to see how it pulls the 28 ft intech trailer I should be receiving in about 2 weeks.
